Iron Cross

On page 36 when talking about Hoffman the book says he holds the iron cross first class with oak leaves. Read below for info on the iron cross. After seeing Meyer getting this basic award wrong the story was doubtful in my mind. After reading the book it appeared he chose to copy from the Elford books.

The cover of the book was deceptive since the book was fiction it failed to explode any myths. I have read numerous books on the Waffen SS and Elford's first Devil's Guard book and I would give Elford ten stars if possible. This book was slow to start but it held my interest and I did enjoy reading it.

If you want a light fiction book on the subject this is a good book. The hero gets the girl and remains true to his cause. Meyer does a good job of producing a book that is an easy read. I gave it three stars because of the deceptive cover and comparing it to Elford's work.

For a huge bargain buy the first Elford book Devil's Guard which is selling for $7.99 from Amazon. It jumps from $7.99 to $20 and back on amazon, it has been on sale over $300 so buy it while you can.

The iron cross was a progressive award, you were first awarded the iron cross second class before you could be awarded the iron cross first class. If warranted you obtained the Knights Cross of the iron cross, similar to the Medal of Honor. The Knights Cross was divided into five degrees, 1. by itself, 2. with oak leaves, 3. with oak leaves with swords, 4. with Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds, and finally 5. with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds which only Hans-Ulrich Rudel was awarded (5) as this was meant to be awarded after the war when a victorious Germany recognized those who helped the war the most. If I could easily spot the mistake Meyer should have done more research. An SS Major certainly would know his awards.

When I first saw this book on amazon, I was overjoyed! I have read all three Devils Guards by George Robert Elford and loved them. But then I saw this book and I couldnt believe it! Sadly from what I can tell it is not a real factual book, just like the books made by george robert elford. It may say "The Real Story" but it tells you in the book that the authour really isnt sure if it is recorded or not.I still highly recomend this book, but if you compare it to Devils Guard by George Elford and say it is non fiction, I suggest you think again.

This book was a poorly written book of fiction, that came no where close to history, while Elford's work may have had a political agenda,and been reinforced with the dramatic, this is just a work of fiction fantasy

Simply Amazing!

I'm an elementary teacher who is currently a stay at home mom to a eighth month old and two year old. I purchased this book to help fill the void of creating lesson plans, without actually having to create them myself ha-ha. Who has the time? (Besides the author, who is a super mom).
        Anyways, this book is amazing! I really enjoy the layout and how it's sequenced. It flows nicely, is easy to follow, and offers many substitute activities if and when needed. My two year old definitely likes certain activities more than others, but I love exposing him to a variety of fun creative play.
        This is a MUST buy for those of you who feel any guilt that your not doing enough with your kids, but truly don't have the time to create activities on your own. That was me! These activities are quick, easy, and the best part... FUN! Thank you Jamie!

Easy, fun and meaningful activities!

The list of supplies makes it easy to make sure you have everything you need "on hand". My 4 year old has enjoyed all of the activities that we've done together from this book - some are gross motor, some fine motor - all are "good' for his development, fun for him - easy for me!! This book is a great resource of activities to do with your little one!

This book is full of simple, awesome, completely do-able activities. I love that most activities can be done with almost no preparation - and they appeal to a wide age range, so both my daughter and son have a great time doing the same thing. This makes having fun with your kids super easy and attainable for anyone!

About the Author
Dr. Allemang is a member of the faculty of the Mechanical Engineering Program in the School of Dynamic Systems, University of Cincinnati, where he currently also serves as Director of the Structural Dynamics Research Laboratory (UC-SDRL). Dr. Allemang has been actively involved in the area of experimental modal analysis for over 35 years, pioneering the use of multiple input, multiple output estimation of frequency response functions, developing the concept of cyclic averaging, formulating the modal assurance criterion (MAC) and the enhanced frequency response function and reformulating modal parameter estimation algorithms into the unified matrix (coefficient) polynomial approach (UMPA). He has authored or co-authored over 140 technical articles, including chapters for 2 different handbooks and numerous refereed articles.Peter Avitabile is the Director of the Modal Analysis and Controls Laboratory at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell and Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department. Dr. Avitable joined the University in 1985 after having worked in industry for over 10 years. His industrial and university experience of over 30 years includes analytical and experimental modal analysis, signal processing and finite element modeling. His main area of research is structural dynamics specializing in the areas of modeling, testing and correlation of analytical and experimental models along with advanced applications for developing structural dynamic models.

Joyce Meyer has a down to earth style. This book is that, and more. It is a collection of inspirational and thoughtful devotions, to start your day off right. We could all use a friendly/intelligent word in the morning, couldn't we? I find, as with all her other books, and resources, that Joyce doesn't disappoint with this one.
