Interesting Book Making A Difficult Subject Simple...

Having spent decades in the fight against addiction and the dreaded black dog (depression) I have bought, borrowed, stolen uncountable therapy and self help courses and books over that period, which most of them I must say are too deep and incomprehensible to the average person like me seeking to find practical help and techniques to help themselves. So to find and read a Beginner's Guide to Success with CBT has been a revelation.
The book is well written with a structure that is easy to follow and understand. Covering many techniques that are used to help overcome many of the difficult issues that the majority of people find in there lives today, issues that could be adjusted through CBT. The book reinforces the basic principle that you find in any good therapy or self help course and that is, change your thinking to change your emotions (feelings) and so changing your actions (behavior) to experience some degree of peace of heart and mind in your life.
I found the book a very interesting and helpful read and can recommend it to any one interested in the benefits of CBT

This book is a really good introduction - it's not a textbook. It is written in a clear straight forward manner that talks straight to the reader. It is suitable for anybody who wants to find out about CBT without paying for therapy and without spending a huge amount of time. It encourages you to examine yourself and how your thought processes affect the outcomes you experience. Overall I found this to be an enjoyable read with a few thought provoking moments. It would be useful for anyone experiencing difficulties as well as anyone who knows someone who may be struggling - isn't that everyone.
